I was delighted when Maria told me that she would be six months pregnant at the wedding. In addition they decided to say „I do“,at one of my favorite places in the mountains, the Hochkönig. As a mountain sports person, this part of Salzburg leaves nothing to be desired. You can go climbing, hiking, skiing and getting married.
The first stop of the day was the Birkarhaus, where the bride was prepared and the ceremony took place in very unusual surroundings. During the ceremony, the bridal couple and the witness were separated from the other guests by a pond. This gave Maria and Thomas extra privacy for their moment.
Then we went to my favorite ski lodge in this area, the Deantnerin. You can tell immediately that the house is run by a South Tyrolean. With much love and friendliness all guests are welcomed.
The bride and groom were chauffeured to the mountain in a classic car on the mountain and were greeted by rows of friends and families who threw flower pedals.
My personal highlight of the wedding was when Mary and Thomas revealed their baby’s gender with a balloon.
